Are you interested in writing fiction? Especially short stories? Or novels? Maybe humor? Mysteries? Sci-fi? Visit http://www.geniuswriter.info to learn how to do it. This page will show you a list of courses you can study. Regardless of what your writing interests are, you might find something at this page that will help you. For what it's worth, I would recommend it. These are excellent courses. This video you're watching here, however, I created myself. It will show you how to write a short story in one hour. If you watch it, it will help you with your creative writing and get the juices flowing for idea generation. It might even show you how to write a book if you pay close attention. Authors would do well to pay attention to this video, as it goes through the planning phases of short story writing. Most writers don't realize that there is a planning phase to all writing, and that this planning process is critical to the creative writing process and composing excellent fiction. If you're trying to write a short story, or any work of fiction for that matter, this video is for you. Be aware that writing a short story is simple, but it's not always easy. If you follow a proven process, however, you will find it is much easier to write a short story or book than if you simply sit down at a computer without any kind of plan in place. This video outlines the way to make a plan to write a good short story, and it will show you how to plan it in one hour. With practice, you'll be able to write a good short story in an hour or even less, depending on the length of your story. If you're interested in writing fiction or you're an aspiring author, this video will help you achieve your best writing, generate ideas, and lead you through the planning phases of writing. It will show you the four phase process of writing -- namely: Planning, writing, editing, and publishing. It will also show you the important aspects of how to write a short story, which involve developing the character, creating a problem the character can live with, creating motivation for that character to solve the problem, creating an action for that character to take to solve the problem or conflict, the resolution of the conflict, and finally the change the character goes through as a result of having to solve the problem and go through the actions of the short story. This video on how to write a short story in one hour is especially good for those that want to be writers but struggle with the short story writing process -- or those that stare at the page and have no idea where to even begin. If you're one of the many writers that struggles with the problem of writers' block or simply not knowing how to begin (or end) a short story, then you'll probably get a lot out of this video. This video also talks about some fundamental aspects of writing, the importance of balancing "appropriate" topics with "inappropriate" topics and why such a differentiation is important. It finally talks about other fundamentals, such as the importance of only letting your main character take action when he or she has a good reason to do so, setting up the events in your story, and wrapping up all the loose ends in your work of creative fiction. Don't struggle with your writing anymore. Watch this video in its entirety to get the full benefit. I don't talk at all about grammar or spelling (there are other videos that do that); I just tell you how to tell a good story and get it out on paper so you can be successful with it. If you like the video, or if you don't, you can feel free to leave a comment. You can also find my book on how to painlessly write a novel on Amazon Kindle at http://tinyurl.com/kevqd62. You can click it to download the book without any trouble. I've been writing for years, so I know what I'm talking about. I've had a lot of my creative work published, and I have no trouble whatsoever coming up with ideas for fiction. If you care about what I have to say (and I hope you do) then you can watch this video and see that you no longer have any problems writing short stories. I hope you enjoy! To make your kids more creative, innovative & intelligent, watch the crow and the old woman. There was a village named Singanallur. It had a big banyan tree which was the residing place for a flock of crows. One day as usual, early in the morning every crow left the tree in search of food except one...the Blacky. Blacky was sleeping till the sun rays touched him. Crow: Ahh... Ahh... Sun rays! What's the time now? Oh my God its 8 o' clock. Everyone has gone and now I have to go alone. Blacky flew over the streets of the village. In search of food, Blacky sat on a branch as he was tired of flying around. Blacky: Hmmm... I am hungry. What makes me hungry? Blacky looked around to find out where the smell came from? An old lady was frying vadas which spread the aroma. The size of vada makes his mouth to water. Immediately he felt like eating the Vada . So Blacky went down and sat near the woman. Blacky: Hmmm... A crow is kept in a rest. Blacky slowly went near the vada plate. Woman: Hey... You are here to steal the Vada. Let me also tie you. Blacky: Bad bad lady, Very dangerous woman!...it is possible to get a Vada only if she is not here. What to do? An idea flashed in Blacky's mind. Immediately he went to the backyard. Blacky: Grandma... Ohh dear Grandma. Woman: Ohhh... My Grandchildren!...I am coming. The moment the old lady went to the backyard. Blacky picked up a Vada and flew back to his home. Blacky was happy and was about to eat his meal. At the same time a Fox called Cunny was walking towards the street . The moment Cunny saw the Vada, it wanted to take it from the Crow. Cunny: Ho..ho..ho... What luck? I will get the vada from the Blacky. Before that I should plan. It trick the Blacky Cunny: Hello Blacky. Hope that's your name? What people say is true? Black is beauty. Wow! you have got wonderful beautiful eyes. Yes, Feather's I don't find words to describe your beauty. Cunny again continued. Blacky who heard this, felt happy and was proud when he heard these words. Cunny: Such a beautiful bird definitely should have a beautiful voice. Will you sing a song for me Blacky? Blacky was totally flattered. Blacky: caw caw caaaaaaaw. Ohh I am a fool. That's it .... the vada felt down and it was in the hands of Cunny. Cunny: Oh Let me clean the sand from the vada before eating it. Cunny took the vada and disappeared into the forest. The fooled Blacky was disappointed. Blacky: I should not have believed the words of that fox. Now I should look out the way to get another vada from that old lady. All time favorite stories in English for kids! Discover the best Children's Short Story Collections : The Honest Woodcutter. In a village next to a forest there lived two woodcutters. They were neighbours staying next to each other. Deena, the first woodcutter is a very energetic and honest one. Soma the other woodcutter was a lazy and mean person. Both earn there living by cutting woods in the near by forest. One day as usual in the morning, Deena started his work. Soma: Ah! He has started early in the morning. Boring! I will start a bit later. Soma led a miserable life as he was not ready to work hard. Deena went to the forest and looked out for woods. Deena: Here I don't find any good wood. Let me go to the river side where I will get wood. So Deena walked towards the river. There he found a big tree. Deena climbed up the tree and started to chop the wood. As he was chopping the axe slipped from his hand and fell into the river. Deena: Oh no. What have I done? That was my only property which earned money. Without that what will I do? Oh God Please help me. He started crying and prayed to God. God answered his prayer. God appeared and asked him. God: Why are you crying my son? Deena: Mother, I dropped my axe in the river. Please help me. God: Don't worry I will get you the axe. God took an axe from the river. It glittered as it was made of gold. Deena was stunned to see such a shining beautiful axe. But Deena said without any hesitation. Deena : No mother this is not mine God again took another axe from the river. It was made of silver. God: My Son is this your axe? Deena : No God now pulled an axe made of iron. God: Is this yours? Deena face showed the sign of joy. Deena: Yes mother this axe is mine. God: My son. I am very much pleased with your honesty. Take all the three axes. This is a reward for your honesty. It's all yours. Deena happily went to his home with the three axes. When he crossed Soma's house Soma saw the axes and was stunned. Soma: He went with the iron axe in the morning but now he is returning back with golden and silver axe. Something has happened. Let me follow him and find out. Soma without the knowledge of Deena followed him. Deena reached the house and called his wife. Deena: My dear wife, where are you. Come on fast. I could not wait any long. Wife: I am coming... what's the matter? Deena: Come and see for yourself. Wife: Any thing special. She came there and saw the axes. She was surprised. Wife: How.. How come you got this gold and silver axe? Deena explained how the God appeared and gave him the axes. Wife: I find no words to speak. Deena: We will sell the golden axe in the market. Soma who was hearing all this from outside decided to follow Deena the next day. The next day Deena sold the golden axe and started a new happy life. Even though he has become rich, Deena went to work as usual. Soma: Deena where are you going in this early hour. Deena: As usual to work. Soma: Ok see you... (to himself) he is really a fool. Having become rich still he goes to work instead of enjoying his life. Oh.. Let me follow him to find out where he chops his woods. Soma followed Deena to the forest. Deena went near the river and started his work. Soma: Ah!... this is the river where his axe slipped. Let me wait till he leaves this place. Soma waited till Deena left. Soma immediately went to the river. And deliberately dropped his axe in to the river. Soma: Oh God, please help me to get back my axe. God appeared. God: Why are you crying my son? Soma: Mother my axe fell into the river. Please help me. God: This guy is playing with me. Let me teach him a lesson. God took out his iron axe first. God: Is this your axe? Soma: What Deena told his wife is that God showed the golden axe first? But now she is showing my iron axe. No problem. Let me tell the answer. Soma: No God then took out silver axe and showed it to him God: Is this your axe? Soma: No...no... not this one God took out the golden axe God: Is this your axe? Soma: Yes yes yes.. this one is mine. God was furious now. God: How dare you? Telling lies to me? You should be punished for telling lies. Saying this God disappeared with the axe. Soma: My axe... my axe. God Please forgive me for telling lies. Please give back my iron axe. Oh God... What will I do now? All his shouting went useless. Soma returned home without the axe which was his only property. But he had learnt his lesson. Moral: Honesty is the best policy. Childers. Production and score by Jesse Cornett. In this tale we follow the journal of a man who has moved into a new apartment. Everything about the place, from the reclusive neighbors to the design of his rooms, is very odd indeed. As our protagonist begins to smell strange smells and hear disturbing sonances, he will reach a point where he will be begging for the situation to be merely “very odd.” “Doors” written by James Colton and performed by Josh Irish. Production and score by Jesse Cornett. A man recounts his childhood experience, wherein his family occupied a new home, in which they found an undocumented room. It was such a strange, enigmatic little space that the young protagonist delighted in the thought of its exploration. He had no idea why it worried his father so much. Soon, however, no explanation would be needed. “The Forgetful House” written by James Colton and performed by G.M. Danielson. Production and score by Jesse Cornett. After the death of his parents, a man inherits his childhood home. As he returns to the domicile, he brings friends with him for company. However, even though this was where he grew up, he finds the place very forgettable… supernaturally forgettable. As he reacquaints himself with his surroundings, there are some aspects that leave him feeling increasingly unnerved. The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. Performed as an audiobook by Frank Marcopolos of FrankMarcopolos.com. Also published as "The Hounds of Zaroff." The story has been adapted numerous times, most notably for the 1932 RKO Pictures film The Most Dangerous Game, starring Joel McCrea and Leslie Banks, and for a 1943 episode of the CBS Radio series Suspense, starring Orson Welles. The story has also served as an inspiration for books and films like Battle Royale, Predator, and The Hunger Games. From Wikipedia: "The Most Dangerous Game", also published as "The Hounds of Zaroff", is a short story by Richard Connell, first published in Collier's book on January 19, 1924. The story features a big-game hunter from New York who falls off a yacht and swims to an isolated island in the Caribbean, where he is hunted by a Cossack aristocrat. The story is inspired by the big-game hunting safaris in Africa and South America that were particularly fashionable among wealthy Americans in the 1920s. The story has been adapted numerous times, most notably for the 1932 RKO Pictures film The Most Dangerous Game, starring Joel McCrea and Leslie Banks, and for a 1943 episode of the CBS Radio series Suspense, starring Orson Welles. Sanger Rainsford and his friend, Whitney, travel to Rio de Janeiro to hunt the region’s big cat: the jaguar. After a discussion about how they are "the hunters" instead of "the huntees", Whitney goes to bed and Rainsford remains on deck. While Whitney returns to his quarters Rainsford hears gunshots, climbs onto the yacht's rail to get a better view of the nearby Ship-Trap Island, and falls overboard. After he realizes he cannot swim back to the boat, he swims to Ship-Trap, which is notorious for shipwrecks. He finds a palatial chateau inhabited by two Cossacks: the owner, General Zaroff, and his gigantic deaf-mute servant, Ivan. Zaroff, another big-game hunter, knows of Rainsford from his published account of hunting snow leopards in Tibet. After inviting him to dinner, General Zaroff tells Rainsford he is bored of hunting because it no longer challenges him; he has moved to Ship-Trap in order to capture shipwrecked sailors, whether due to storms or by luring vessels onto the rocks. He sends the sailors into the jungle supplied with food, a knife, and hunting clothes to be his quarry. After a three-hour head start, he sets out to hunt and kill them. Any captives who can elude Zaroff, Ivan, and a pack of hunting dogs for three days are set free; however, no one has eluded him that long. Zaroff invites Rainsford to join him in his hunt, but Rainsford is appalled by Zaroff’s motives and refuses. Zaroff then tells Rainsford that he can choose whether he will be the next to be hunted or whipped to death by Ivan; Rainsford chooses to be hunted. During the three-hour head start, Rainsford begins to lay an intricate trail in the forest and then climbs a tree. Zaroff finds him easily, but decides to play with him like a cat would a mouse. After the failed attempt of eluding Zaroff, Rainsford builds a Malay-man-catcher, a weighted log attached to a trigger. This contraption injures Zaroff's shoulder, causing him to return home for the night. The next day Rainsford creates a Burmese tiger pit, which kills one of Zaroff's hounds. He sets a native Ugandan knife trap, which impales and kills Ivan, but costs him his knife. To escape Zaroff and his approaching hounds, Rainsford dives off a cliff into the sea; Zaroff, disappointed at Rainsford's apparent suicide, returns home. Zaroff locks himself in his bedroom and turns on the lights only to find Rainsford waiting for him; he had swum around the island in order to sneak into the chateau. Zaroff congratulates him on winning the "game," but Rainsford decides to fight him, saying he is still a beast-at-bay and that the original hunt is not over. Accepting the challenge, Zaroff says that the loser will be fed to the dogs, while the winner will sleep in his bed. Though the ensuing fight is not described, the story ends with Rainsford observing that "he had never slept in a better bed," implying that he defeated and killed Zaroff. There is a reference to The Most Dangerous Game in letters the Zodiac Killer wrote to San Francisco Bay Area newspapers in his three-part cipher: "Man is the most dangerous animal of all to kill."[8] The Most Dangerous Game film is also mentioned a number of times in the context of the Zodiac Killer in the 2007 film, Zodiac.

G. Wells’s short story “The Door in the Wall” was first published in 1911 as part of a collection titled The Door in the Wall, and Other Stories. The conflict between science and imagination is the major theme of the story, which was enormously popular when it first appeared. Today Wells’s reputation rests almost entirely upon his science fiction novels, which include The Time Machine (1895), The Island of Dr. Moreau (1896), The Invisible Man (1897), and The War of the Worlds (1898), all of which are acknowledged classics of the science fiction genre and continue to be widely read and adapted into other media. “The Door in the Wall” is considered by both readers and critics to be Wells’s finest short story. “The Door in the Wall” examines an issue to which Wells returned repeatedly in his writing: the contrast between aesthetics and science and the difficulty of choosing between them. The protagonist, Lionel Wallace, possesses a vivid imagination but goes into politics, where he is considered extremely rational. Wells himself was both a trained scientist and a writer of fiction, and this theme recurs in several guises in Wells’s work. The story suggests both the magic and the danger of a nostalgia for a buried time. It is a story about politician Wallace who, while growing up in a joyless home, discovers a door in a wall leading to an enchanted garden. Wells’s recurrent theme of science versus art is part of a wider contrast between the rational and the imaginative elements of experience. Wells has often been seen as being caught on an intellectual battleground between his scientific training in rational thought and his gift of a vivid imagination. Wallace’s inability to bridge the gap between his imagination and his rational, scientific side leads to his death. ** Wells, of course, was a freemason and many critics have pointed to elements of his fiction as his way of spreading the methods of "the craft." Some critics go so far as to say that Marxism and socialism were always connected to Masonry and the banking houses, despite Wells or Bertrand Russell’s masks of anti-monetarism. They claim that the republics and their socialist “parties” worldwide are actually controlled by a secretive Orwelian “Inner Party.” I don't know about all of that, but it makes for interesting background information when listening to a story like TDitW. *** Please subscribe to this YouTube channel so I can continue to make new audiobooks from public domain works! http://youtube.com/brooklynfrank
